Congratulations go to Ahmer Sadiq Baqal, who passed the landmark of 100 wickets for Arthington in the 2nd XI’s crucial top-of-the-table victory over Darley 2nd XI at Darley on 19th June 2021.

Ahmer reached his milestone after coming on as first-change bowler, helping himself to figures of 3/62 from his 10 overs. This was all before completing a fine all-round performance by registering a valuable 49 in the successful run chase, although a hefty fine was surely registered for 50-avoidance!

Ahmer becomes just the 16th player in Arthington league history to register the feat of 100 wickets, and does so in his 73rd match.

Since arriving at the ACG in 2016, the ever-reliable all-rounder has accumulated a total of 101 scalps at a healthy average of 17.21. He has claimed a best return of 4/8, and has an economy rate of just 3.5 runs per over.

Congratulations Ahmer from all at Arthington Cricket Club.
