Congratulations go to Jo Nash, who passed the landmark of 5,000 runs for Arthington in the 2nd XI’s victory over Walton Park on Saturday 18th July.
The 2020 season has taken a long time to get started, but for Jo it was well worth the wait as his agonising wait to get to the milestone was finally achieved.
The former club captain becomes only the 2nd player in Arthington history to reach 5,000 runs, and is second only behind Arthington legend Brian Meredith in overall runs scored.
Since his arrival at The ACG in 2005, Jo has reached the landmark in his 185th match for the club, over two stints (2005 & 2010 – present)
Amassing a total of 5,003 runs in 170 innings, Jo has scored 27 half-centuries and 8 centuries (not to mention bagging 9 ducks), and has a highest score of 140.
More than useful with the ball as well as bat, Jo has also taken 69 wickets at an average of 21.06, with an impressive best of 6-52.
Jo’s tireless work behind the scenes for Arthington is further testament to his importance to the club both on and off the field.
Congratulations Jo from all at Arthington Cricket Club.
