Luke Seaborne – 100 Wickets For Arthington

CONGRATULATIONS LUKE!

Congratulations go to Luke Seaborne, who passed the landmark of 100 wickets for Arthington in the 1st XI's thumping victory over Rainton on Saturday 15th August.

Luke has been constantly chipping away in the (nervous?!) nineties in wicket-terms, but with his first victim on Saturday, he reached his century.

The first-team opening bowler is the 15th player in Arthington history to reach 100 wickets, and he reached the feat in his 51st match for the club.

Since his arrival at The ACG in 2016, Luke has now amassed 101 scalps at a superb average of just 14.37 per wicket. He has taken one five-wicket haul and recorded a club-best return of 6-37 against Helperby 3rd XI. He has an economy rate of 3.50 runs per over.

A useful lower-order batsman, Luke has notched up 204 runs in 21 innings, with an average of 12.75 and a highest score of 43*. Saving his best for the current season, Luke is enjoying some form with the willow, scoring 60 runs at an average of 30 this year.

Luke is also the author of the splendid match reports we all enjoy on a weekly basis.

Congratulations Luke from all at Arthington Cricket Club.

Jo Nash – 5,000 runs for Arthington

CONGRATULATIONS JO!

Congratulations go to Jo Nash, who passed the landmark of 5,000 runs for Arthington in the 2nd XI's victory over Walton Park on Saturday 18th July.

The 2020 season has taken a long time to get started, but for Jo it was well worth the wait as his agonising wait to get to the milestone was finally achieved.

Since his arrival at The ACG in 2005, Jo has reached the landmark in his 185th match for the club, over two stints (2005 & 2010 - present)

Amassing a total of 5,003 runs in 170 innings, Jo has scored 27 half-centuries and 8 centuries (not to mention bagging 9 ducks), and has a highest score of 140.

Jo's tireless work behind the scenes for Arthington is further testament to his importance to the club  both on and off the field.

Dennis Nash – 400 Wickets

CONGRATULATIONS DENNIS!

Arthington legend Dennis Nash took his 400th wicket for the club in the 2nd XI's 135-run victory against Ripley 4th XI on Saturday 4th May 2019.

The evergreen opening bowler was yet again instrumental in his side's victory, claiming 4-27 from his 10 overs as the 2nd XI skittled their opposition for just 89. Dennis also contributed 5no with the bat.

Since joining Arthington in 2002, Dennis has established himself as one of the legends of the club, and you just need to take a look at his statistics to see why. He has notched up 287 matches, making him 4th on the all-time appearances list.

His 400th wicket means that he is only the second player in Arthington history to pass 400 wickets, and is second on the all-time wicket takers list. Now with 402 wickets for Arthington, deadly Dennis has claimed his scalps at an impressive average of just 19.69, and with a miserly economy rate of just 2.70 runs per over, and a best return of 6-16, Dennis has made a name for himself as not just a legend of Arthington Cricket Club, but of the entire Nidderdale League.

Many, many congratulations Dennis. A true gentleman of the game, we are proud to call you one of our own - and we just know that you will continue to terrorize league batsmen for many more years to come.

On behalf of everyone at Arthington Cricket Club, we wish you all the best, and congratulations again on the monumentous achievement.

Jo Climbs to 2nd in Aggregate Runs

ONLY BASH HAS SCORED MORE RUNS FOR ARTHINGTON

Huge congratulations to Jo Nash who has moved into 2nd position in the all-time aggregate run scorers list for Arthington.

Jo’s big achievement came during his knock of 23 for the 2nd XI in the defeat to Birstwith 3rd XI at the ACG on 18th August 2018. In his innings, Jo overtook the long-standing position held by Richie Hunt to become the 2nd highest run scorer in Arthington league history. Only Arthington legend Brian “Bash” Meredith has scored more runs for the club.

Jo has now totaled 4,870 runs for the club, and although he still has some way to go to catch Bash’s total of 8,187 runs, his Arthington record is a very impressive one and he should close that gap considerably. The feat came about in his 165th innings of his 180th match for the club since his debut back in 2005. Jo had a very successful debut season however after that one season he left to play at a higher level, but he returned to the ACG in 2010 and has been a regular ever since, establishing himself as one of the most dependable and prolific run scorers in the club.

The opening batsman has an impressive Arthington career average of 37.18, notching up a total of 27 fifties and 8 centuries with a high score of 140. Only Naveed Andrabi (10) has scored more centuries and only Brian Meredith (37) more fifties.Add to this a total of 69 wickets at an average of 21.06 with a best of 6-52 and it is easy to see why Jo is one of the first names on any Arthington team sheet.

Jo is a former 1st team captain and currently holds the post of Secretary for the club.

Congratulations Jo from all at Arthington Cricket Club. Only another 3,317 runs to go!

More Records for Naveed

HE'S AT IT AGAIN!

Naveed Andrabi has been at it again, the prolific run-maker breaking more records at the ACG in the 1st XI's 90-run victory over Pannal 2nd XI on 11th August 2018. The Arthington skipper yet again led by example in registering his 4th century of the season before being cruelly run-out for 124.

The match-winning innings gave Naveed another batting milestone and in the process broke 2 more club batting records. His century was the 9th of Naveed's hundreds for the club, which now sees him hold the record for most league hundreds after overtaking Jo Nash's previous record of 8.

Naveed's knock also saw him pass 2,000 runs for the club, in record-breaking time. He passed the milestone in only his 31st match, which is the quickest ever in the club's history. Naveed is the 11th player to reach this mark, and ironically he now needs exactly 100 runs to break into the top 10 run-scorers of all time for Arthington.

Congratulations Naveed from all at Arthington Cricket Club.
