Vince Greaves-Newall – 100 Appearances


Congratulations to Vince Greaves-Newall, who has reached the feat of 100 appearances for the club in the 1st XI's victory over Studley Royal 3rd XI on the 28th July 2018.

Vince celebrated hie milestone by helping himself to a season-best 4-18 in ripping through the Studley reply in the crushing 157-run victory at the weekend. Vince becomes the 20th player to reach the milestone.

Making his debut in 2012, the all-rounder has accumulated 1,453 runs at an average of 26.91. He has scored 2 centuries and 4 half-centuries in this time, with a high score of 106. Vince has also taken 137 wickets at an impressive average of 19.19, with a best of 5-13.

Vince is the 18th highest run-scorer for the club - and the 9th highest wicket-taker.

Martin Binks – 400 Appearances


Congratulations to Martin Binks who has reached the feat of 400 appearances for the club in the 2nd XI’s victory over North Stainley 2nd XI at the ACG on the 21st July 2018.

Martin becomes only the 2nd player in Arthington league history to make 400 appearances, and is second only behind Arthington legend Brian Meredith (432 appearances) as the clubs most capped player.
Known more for his wicket-keeping than his batting, Martin averages just 2.22 in 130 innings for the club, registering a total of 130 runs. Martin has never bowled a ball in a competitive league match!
Martin is also well known and well respected for his off-field activities for the club and league, having occupied the posts of Secretary, Treasurer and Fixture Secretary among others. He is currently also Hon. Secretary for the Nidderdale League.

Gareth Meredith – 100 Appearances

Congratulations to Gareth Meredith, who played in his 100th match for Arthington in the 2nd XI fixture against North Stainley 2 on 19th May 2018.

Gareth becomes the 19th player to achieve 100 matches for the club.Gareth celebrated his milestone by helping himself to 2 wickets on his way to returning figures of 2-21 from his 4 overs. He was not needed with the bat as the 2nd XI recorded a convincing 9-wicket victory.

Nephew of Arthington legend Brian, Gareth made his Arthington debut in 2006, and has since amassed 570 runs and taken 23 wickets for the club. He has scored 2 fifties in this time with a high score of 66 and a best bowling return of 3-25.Known as one of the best fielders in the club and owning perhaps the safest pair of hands, Gareth likes to make difficult catches look very easy!

Along with Brian and his father Neville, Gareth has been instrumental over the years in keeping the ACG as beautiful as it is with tireless help and assistance at the ground, so thanks for all the hard work.
