Congratulations go to Jo Nash, who reached the landmark of 200 appearances for Arthington in the 2nd XI’s crucial victory at Upper Wharfedale on 26th June 2021.

Jo reached his milestone as the 2nd XI extended their unbeaten run to the season courtesy of a 6-wicket victory over their rivals. Jo’s contribution was 17 runs – part of a 50-run opening stand with Umer Khan as the successful chase began.

Jo becomes just the 10th player in Arthington league history to register the feat of 200 appearances.

Since arriving at the ACG in 2005, two stints with the club has seen Jo amass a total of 5,341 runs at an average of 36.58 with a highest score of 140. He has recorded 29 half-centuries and 8 centuries during his time. Jo is second on the list of all-time runs scorers for the club, second only to Arthington legend Brian Meredith.

No slouch with the ball either, Jo has helped himself to 69 wickets at an average of 21.06 and an economy rate of 4.65. With a best return of 6-52 and five 5-wicket hauls, Jo has firmly established himself as one of the first names on any team sheet.

As well as vital contributions on the pitch, Jo’s wonderful work behind the scenes at the club help to keep Arthington CC going. As Club Secretary, Fixture Secretary and Treasurer, it is a wonder Jo has any time to help produce the fabulous batting wickets we see at the ACG today, and make our magnificent ground one that any team looks forward to visiting.

Congratulations Jo from all at Arthington Cricket Club, and thankyou for all your hard work and dedication to the club.
